The Lab

While some of our research is conducted in real-world environments with mobile data devices (e.g., eye trackers), virtual reality allows us to study similar spatial behavior with relatively precise experimental control. Our virtual reality setups involve various hardware and software components. Our hardware includes a three-walled projection system (the CAVE) and a networked virtual reality setup for studying social wayfinding (the DeSciL). In the CAVE, we also employ a custom-written, Unity-based software framework (EVE) for controlling the progression of the experiment and logging different types of data.
