Environmental Appraisal

Specific features of people's environments impact their well-being and judgment. By experimentally manipulating such features, we can learn which of several design interventions may improve environmental appraisal. Our research in this area can be divided into three projects. One of these projects is focused on landscape perception; another project is focused on the influence of neighborhood disadvantage on emotions and stress; and another project is on the perception of urban density.
